Brief Chronology of Professional Career
Dr. Burleson has been at the UConn Health Center since 1982, and was in the School of Dental Medicine's Department of Behavioral Sciences & Community Health until 1999, when he joined the School of Medicine and the Department of Community Medicine. He has served actively as a research design and statistics consultant for twenty-five years. Dr. Burleson has published in the fields of basic psychology and behavioral science, applied behavioral science, addiction treatment, and has acted as statistician in publications in basic biological sciences and clinical biological sciences.
Research, program evaluation, statistical analysis, and teaching.
Dr. Burleson has taught Introduction to Biostatistics in the MPH program and taught Introductory Statistics for Dental Residents for 10 years.
Research interests include alcohol and other substance abuse prevention and treatment, and research design and analysis of observational, experimental and clinical trail studies.
Evaluation of Connecticut's Underage Tobacco Purchase Field Study
Dr. Burleson provides statistical and analytic services related to drawing a valid sample and analyzing results from the compliance inspections conducted by the Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services's Tobacco Prevention and Enforcement Program field investigators.
